Sir:

Under date of September 22nd 1892, you transmitted to this
office the proposition of R. G. Kirkwood, dated September 14th
1892, and H. C. Boden, dated September 21, 1892, for water supply
system for the Fort Sill boarding school.

The aggregate cost of the plant, as contained in the said
proposal of R. G. Kirkwood was $746.95.

Under date of January 4th 1893, the Kirkwood Manufactur-
ing Co., agreed to allow a discount of five (5) per cent. off the
price quoted in their communication of September 14, 1892.

You are now advised that the Honorable Secretary of the
Interior has granted authority for this office to expend a sum
not exceeding $709.61, in the purchase of a No. "A" Kirkwood,
steel wind engine, with 40 foot steel tower, tank, tank tower,
pipe couplings, etc., and labor on plant, as per said company's
quotation of September 14th less the five per cent. discount al-lowed in letter of January 4th.

1. The signature on this letter is not legible but we believe it is H. V. Belt, who was acting commissioner at one time.
