Sir

This will be handed
you by Mr Duncan Robertson Merchant
of Nashville who will be in the Town of
Lexington for some days - can I ask
you to make enquiry of Mr Henry Clay
on the gentleman to whom Mr Clay
transferred the care & superintendance
of the suit Jackson & Hutchings or John
M. Gerrard - whether the money recovered
in that suit is collected or not, if collected
say to the gentleman to return such
sum out of the money as will reward
them for their services, and remit the
ballance by Mr Robertson who will
receipt for the same - if not collected
have the goodness to enquire and write
me at what time the money will
be collected -  your attention to these
