Sept 2nd 1878

Col P. B. Hunt
U. S. Indian Agent
K. & C. Agency

Sir:

Genl Davidson
directs me to send you the enclosed telegram
with the request that you answer it, as the
matter is entirely in your hands. He received a
dispatch yesterday stating that there was a
man there, (in Denison) who had eight Comanche
ponies for sale, and asking if any had been
stolen from this reservation recently. The Enclosed
has reference to that.

Very Respectfully
Your Obedient Servant
S. R. Whitall
2nd Lieut 16th Infantry
Post Adjutant
