November 16 1893

Capt. H. G. Brown, U. S. A.
Acting U. S. Indian Agent
Kiowa &c Agency, Oklahoma.

Your communication of the 8th instant is received, wherein
you request authority to expend $50.00 in the purchase of carpet,
paper, &c, to furnish the reception room at teh Fort Sill boarding
school under your charge.

In reply thereto you are advised that a detailed estimate
must be submitted, showing the quantity and price to be paid for
carpet and such other furniture as you propose purchasing, in order
that the matter can be properly presented to the Department for
the necessary authority.

It is presumed that the employes of the school can do the pa-
pering without extra expense for services of a paper-hanger. Am
I correct?

Very respectfully

Frank C. Armstrong
Assistant Commissioner
