Forty seven of the younger men receive
good instruction, two hours a day, five
days in the week, and they have a Sunday
service which is doing them all much
good. Upwards of thirty of the younger
men can now read in the first reader
and are just in that state of advancement
where they can understand and make them-
selves understood, and their progress in-
creases every day. The teachers are so
interested in their work, that all begged
ments of justice, pacify all, and
me to try to get them held longer, that.
they might have the pleasure of seeing
their efforts more fully consummated.
The returning to their people after
a while of forty men who can aid in
breaking down the barriers to efforts for
civilizing their tribes by speaking our
language, would seem to be of enough
importance in itself to justify a long-
er effort, not to speak of other good in-
fluences, experience, and inspection they
receive. As Mr Earle has desired
it, I would recommend for release,
now as follows-
Minimic - Cheyenne - No special charge

Little Medicine  "         "        "          "

Antelope           "         "        "          "

Womans Heart - Kiowa He is old &

sickly, and mourns a great deal

The charges against him are not

                          very well founded
