The back of this photo states "Cruis and family". The magazine "Oklahoma: Magazine of the Oklahoma Heritage Association features this photo in the Spring/Summer 2001 issue. The caption reads "Bald Eagle, seated in the center, holding his daughter Oda-beah. His wife Erksay is on his left. On his right is Nauni, a friend of the family. While on a Comanche raid into Mexico when he was about 16 years old, Bad Eagle was captured. He was adopted by a Mexican officer and given the name Cruz Portillo."
