Frequently asked questions

This seems to be a question ask people ask themselves more than they ask us. It’s a shame too, because we lose an opportunity for shameless self-promotion to show you a lot of helpful information. As of June 11, 2007, the website is getting a new look as well as new feature set that should see a lot of tweaking and additions as time passes. As we improve the site, we will update this post to let you know what’s new.

Have you lost something important and can’t think where else to look? If you spend a lot of time in Nash Library, be sure to ask at the Circulation Desk. Whenever we find something without an owner, we put it in Lost and Found here in the Library. Typical items include cell phones, jump drives, CDs, notebooks, workbooks, textbooks, gloves, hats, and student IDs. We always send Student IDs to Student Services but we keep the other items in case you come calling for it. Be sure to ask us if you’ve lost something.

Items in Lost and Found as of February 3, 2007 include a cell phone, a jump drive, a CD that accompanies a textbook, a course workbook, an umbrella, three notebooks, a pair of gloves, and a couple of hats. If you think you belong to any of these items, come check it out. You will be asked to describe any item you attempt to claim.

Rumor has it that a few of you complain every time you have to flash your ID to check out a book or pick up your printout. If your ID picture is like mine, then I don’t blame you for not wanting to show your ID. But (there’s always a but, isn’t there?) we have to make sure you are who you say you are for two very important reasons.

First, we have to make sure that we are checking out items to the right person. The library staff does not know everyone on campus so you could give us any name when you check out books and we wouldn’t know that you weren’t who you said you were. That’s why you have to show your ID.

Second, YOU, you lucky USAO student (unlike students at some other universities in Oklahoma who will remain nameless), don’t have to pay for you printouts if you show us your ID. So, ID = free printing, no ID = no free printing. Surely a freebie like that is worth showing us your ID, no matter how bad you look in the photo.

Nash Library hours depend on the trimester. If it’s the spring or fall semester, then we’re open

Monday - Thursday 8am - midnight

Friday 8am to 5pm

Saturday 11am - 5pm (selected Saturdays only)

Sunday 4pm - midnight

If it’s the summer trimester, then the hours are

Monday - Thursday 8am - 8pm

Friday 8am -5pm

Saturday 11am - 5pm (selected Saturdays only)

Sunday 2pm - 8pm
